Friday Open – Richmond

  • David – P17 shit show, with guys who will turn down on you when you are beside them by the start finish line, and say its on you.  These guys are full of crap.  And the asshole told me to talk about it on the podcast, so here it is.  Your fault.  I was fully beside you before the turn even started. And was all the way on the yellow when you doored me.  Here’s the vid. https://youtu.be/xcODkduLlBM .   Listeners have already checked it and agree
  • Chris Waldron-P 29. Got loose early and wrecked. It was ugly. 
  • Rochette – P 27
  • Kyle -P  P5 Started P9. Couldn’t find the grip in the car and kept sliding around. Got collected in a couple wrecks and fixed the damage through out the “22” Cautions. Went 1 Lap down and got the lucky dog. After Slowly working my way up to the top 10, I started picking cars off on each of the GWC by watching the leader take off and I timed it to my advantage to pick off one last spot on the last GWC and came home P5 with 16X and a combined repair time of nearly 5 minutes.  I’m sitting Martinsville out as this many cautions is just uncalled for.
  • Greg – P4 – Older tires and multiple restarts were tough
  • Brad – P16 Started p3 and the first half of the race was great. Ran top 4 for all of it until we got to about 50 laps to go. I should have stayed out but a large number of the lead cars pitted for tires. Well we all know what happens at Richmond with 50 laps to go…wreck after wreck after wreck. I think I was caught up in almost all of them. Really frustrating end to what started as a great race.

Sunday Open- Richmond

  • David – P wrecked out, while 3 ride, middle car turns into turn before I do, hitting me forcing my car to turn right.   I have had high iRating dudes tell me the inside guy has the right off way in this situation.  Knowing the guy probably turned close to when he expected he should, after looking at the replay I felt like it was as racing incident grey area as it gets.
  • Justin -P1, Winner chicken dinner, stay up front most of the race. Had a 60 lap run at the end holding the lead to the point where i could manage a 3ish second gap then caution to bring out the G/W/C. We line up again. Take off and I hold the lead for the checkered flag. First NiS cup win for the year. 
  • Greg –PWrecked out

Sunday Fixed-Richmond

  • Mike- P11- 20 cautions I ended up having a drive-through penalty and is what it is

Wednesday Open – Martinsville

  • Mike- P4! Tifosi top four. A team record.  A historical moment.  Basically ran top 10 top five most of the day pitted one surround halfway got dumped with about 30 was able to get my way back up with my teammates to finish P4.!!!  https://www.tiktok.com/@mikedeanellis/video/7353867118154239274?_r=1&_t=8lEnDA8CAI7
  • David – P 3,  didn’t feel very fast here.  All came down to if you started on the outside or the inside.  Managed to stay relatively mistake free and clear of the other peoples problems.  Justin was the fastest of us. 
  • Justin – P1, got lucky on this one pitted lap 75 and stayed out the entire time track position is the key. I think if we would have went more than a 10 lap run i think Mr. Tom would have had this one. Everything just fell in place. This was a team effort. 1,2,3,4 BABY! Wooooohhh!, Another Tifosi team win.
  • Tom – P 2 
  • Brad – P2 Started p10 and was turned before lap 2 after being taken 3 wide into turn 3. Went to the rear and fought back to the front avoiding all of the ridiculous driving. Took the lead by half way but was not able to keep it with the damage I had. Pitted with about 60 laps to go and raced back up p5 before two G/W/C. Avoided more spinning cars to grab p3 crossing the line but p2 must have been dinged for contact and was put a lap down. I will take it!

Thursday Open-Martinsville 

  • Mike- P DISCONECT

FIA F4- ELLIS

  • Ellis- At Sebring. Qualified seven. got to P4 by the end of lap two then second and third tangled, and then I was relegated to second and brought it home from there no catching the leader he was sometimes more than a second faster than me per lap. Nice P2!!!
  • Trying again on Sunday, qualified ninth 
  • Now at Hockenheim Ring finished P 17 after a turn, one lap, one huge pile up where I had to tow
  • Qualified P 16. Got to a 11th by the end of lap one at one point I let a guy get by me and after he did, he pulled right in front of me in a breaking zone and I drove over him. I was able to continue on and finish P5.

A Open

  • Brad W – P10 (Martinsville) Started p8 and stayed in the mix until the first pitstop. Speed entering the pits and that put me to the rear. Got very aggressive trying to get back to the front but ended up spinning. The final portion of the race was yellow filled but had a good time racing teammates.

B Open

  • Brad – P5 (Richmond) Started p5 and was in top 4 for most of the race. Really enjoy this car and the racing has been better than Class A and NiS. We had a late race restart and had a fantastic battle trying to keep p4 but lost the spot on the last lap. I’ll take it.

C Open

  • John K –  P9, P7, and P20, Too sick to give details.

Thank you for all of the feedback on the timing and scoring issue that impacted the 1:00 GMT time slot. We have identified the technical source of the issue and have remedied it for future time slots.

To clarify next steps, unfortunately we are unable to amend the results from last night’s event. The nature of the iRating system doesn’t allow for these recalculations without enormous waterfall impact. The results will stand as they are posted.

We sincerely apologize for this event and any frustration it may have caused. We are looking forward to the next time slots and the rest of the series.

NASCAR iRacing Series

Friday Open – COTA

  • David – P12   meh
  • Tyler -P13 I’m well aware of my small skill set on road but iRacing has got to fix the track limits at cota. The margins are so narrow with this car. It does not reflect anything on real race day. Glad I didn’t get the black flag as I finished with a 16x. Looking forward to Richmond.

Sunday Open- COTA

  • David – P10, meh, at least had guys near me to actually have something interesting going on
  • Chris – P 4. Hit my marks and only 7x.

Wednesday Open – Richmond 

  • Mike- P4 Started in the back quickly worked my way to the top 10 started working my way slowly up and got to the lead with 70 to go. Ended up finishing the race on P4. I had newer tires than the guys in front of me but no late cautions so I could try to make a run for the win. We’ll get them next time.
  • David – P wrecked, running good, top 10 car infont bounces hard on wall i can’t avoid, destroyed
  • Justin – P wrecked out
  • Tyler – P wrecked but not totaled. Finished 26th after taking major damage just over half way. Avoided a wreck out of 2 and got blasted in the rear. Then 30 laps later turned in 1. The racing product in NIS is comparable to carb cup. Just unfortunate. 
  • Brad – P9 A lot of work to get back to where I started. Ran top 10 first third of the race until getting turned twice. Fought wheel damage but was able to stay on the lead lap and get most of it fixed. Late race cautions allowed for a decent finish.

Thursday Open-Richmond 

  • Mike- P10 car 31 top split. Worked my way forward to run top 10 basically got as high as fourth. There were nine cautions in the first part but 120 green flag lap run to end it out. I didn’t really fade pretty proud of the top 10 and top split P 10.
  • Justin – P wrecked out

  • Ellis – P7 was running around fourth on lap 25 when the wind caught me and spun me down to the grass and I lost all my spots ran dead last there for two green flags and finally caught a caution took a waiver around and caught another caution to get caught up on fuel worked my way forward to lap approaching the final stop. I stayed out and ran out of fuel and pitted with 15 but then the other leaders had short pitted and had a five car breakaway upfront. I finished P7, a super fun race.
  • Tom- P5.  We went caution free for 135 laps.  I restarted P19 on restart and worked my way up.  Some of the most fun I’ve had.  3 and 4 wide in the IndyCar
  • Donnie- wrecked out

A Open-Richmond 

  • Brad W – P28. Caught up in a wreck on lap one. Made multiple mistakes while trying to get repairs. Finished race just for SR.
  • Tyler – P15. Solid race with a few teammates in the split. Always a good time racing with them. 2x. I’ll take that and run.


League / Hosted Races

  • Ellis- P jet car at Michigan Chris McGuire hosted. Pole hit the barrels on the green flag pitstop wrecked out.
    • Ff 1600 at lime rock in the rain went from 20th to finish P6 super fun with no damage on
    • FIAF4 @Sebring. Qualified P8 out of 24 shout out to listener Tom Gulker , who is in the race with me.  Tom got wrecked out and finished 13th.  I was fighting hard for fifth and we went four wide and the hairpin I got dumped spun off course fell back to 13th then worked my way back up to finish P8 w Damaged car.
    • Fia f4 again qualified 9. my fastest lap yet. Got ran over from behind in the last corner of lap. Two big time fell clear to the back and came back to finish P 17.

With the return of INDYCAR, the INDYCAR iRacing Series (Open Setup) predominantly follows the real world INDYCAR schedule. It will have full length races on road courses while utilizing amended race distances for the ovals during the 16-week racing season. The series returns for it’s second week of competition this week. It’s the first Oval of the year. Auto Club Speedway, once again utilizing the Dallara IR-18.

Friday Open – Bristol

  • Mike -P 8- had about a minutes of damage and 16 incident points drove through the field at least once but was able to bring it home. P8. I will take a nice top 10.
  • Justin – P 32 just got dumped at the end i was fast led 68 laps
  • David – P16 shit show with 19 cautions, finished with 22x,  8 of them were over sensitive iRacing x’s for checkups where i barely tapped a guy on a restart cause of stack up.
  • Rochette – self wrecked.  Typical Bristol BS. with 40 to go was on the inside of a guy coming out of a corner and drifted up just a smidge and just wrecked a few cars. My new presidential spotter called me a dumb son of a bitch 
  • Kyle -P  black flag drive-through penalty

Sunday Open- Bristol

  • Mike- Pwrecked out. A total of 4 teammates in the same split.  At one point, Chris Waldron got wrecked and was spun out and came down the track I went to the apron the miss him and actually T-bones him really hard.  Later, some lard didn’t understand car high and just ran up into me into the fence. DNF.
  • David – P 11.  Had a top 15 car.  Got sent to the back late twice. First time unavoidable wreck damage.  2nd time, I juked up on the track case everyone exiting the pits was stopped, got EoL.  But right after managed to avoid a big one and got 10 spots right back.  On last GWC had to go conservative cause X’s and dropped from 9th to 11th.  Good points day though as it was top split.  Back in the lead of div 2
  • Justin -P30 was doing decent and got involved in a caution and during the caution laps it told me to let a car by and that car wasn’t on track anymore so it was impossible for him to pass me so I got a passing under yellow penalty so that completely ruined my really good race.
  • Tony – was doored by a car bouncing off the outside wall and put me in the inside wall on lap 3… 6 minutes required ya i wasn’t waiting. Least the guy apologized 
  • Brian C – P1. Didn’t qualify well but slowly worked my way to the front. Got dumped on a restart running p2. Spent the next 100 laps fixing damage during cautions. Got a caution with 25 laps left and pitted for right side tires.. others took 4 but the 2 tires were good enough to get to the lead and hold them off for the win. Redemption after throwing the win away last week at Phoenix 
  • Chris – P 21. Had a smoking fast car was running 4th at half way make and got doored by 3rd trying to pass. Got loose and wrecked. P21.
  • John – P11. I had only done about 15 minutes of practice at Bristol earlier in the week so I did not feel comfortable qualifying. I figured I should stay out of the way of guys who were better prepared, so I did not qualify. Started P35 out of 36 cars. My hope was that I would gain spots by passing and attrition. I did get some damage twice from typical Bristol Stackup wrecks, but nothing you wouldn’t expect here. Because of the damage and an unsafe pit exit I went 4 laps down. But I passed a few cars and gained spots by other people wrecking one another. I was the lucky dog on both GWC’s and got within two laps of the leader. P10 was a lap down so I was hoping he wrecked on one of the GWC’s but he didn’t. I am very happy with this one. Picking up 24 spots made me feel great.

Sunday Fixed-Bristol

  • Mike- p7! Kept getting involved in cautions that were not my doing with no damage racking up the incident points eventually got the drive-through penalty took a wave around and then fought really hard for a lucky dog and then drove it back up in there to finishP7
  • Justin – P21 took 4 min of damage within a couple laps and 1 lap down. Took until 50ish laps to go to get all my damage fixed and get back on the lead lap running in the top 10. Then some one takes me 3 wide and wrecks us all. All that work for nothing.
  • Tom – P P12 after playing bumper tag with @Adam John Josselyn lol
  • Adam – wrecked out

Wednesday Open – COTA 

  • Mike- P.  Wrecked out about halfway through the first fuel run approaching the final set of turns on the track there’s a guy off the track stopped so I keep on going by and right as I do he decides to pull out and go straight across the track towards the entrance of pit road and, I hard to miss him, but it’s too late. I T-bone him.  That’s a protest.
  • David – P 18, slow, irrelevant
  • Justin – P 8, nothing really special just kept it on the track. I need to get better. 
  • Brad – P12 Finished where I started. Rather uneventful race. I continued to pick up time as the race went on. 
  • Greg – P6
  • Chris W – P3. Only 11x and 5 of that came on the last lap. Bottom split so whopping points pay out of 29.

Thursday Open-COTA 

  • Mike- P 15 with 24 incidents lots of run-ins with idiots, but was able to bring it home really hard to keep the mental focus at the end
  • David – P dnf.  Blew my motor downshifting

Official Series

A Open

  • Brad W – P11 COTA-Ran this as a test for NiS. I started P17 and avoided some early incidents but as the race continued I picked up more speed. I was super happy that I completed the race with 0 incidents.

B Open

  • John – P3. This race is why I love IRacing. Started P5. On the start the pole sitter blew up his car and caused a stack up. P3 ran into P1, I ran into P3, and P7 ran into the back of me and shot me into the grass. No yellow. Thank God somebody spun in turn one and brought out the yellow. I was able to pit and get all damage repaired, but came out of the pits P23. Got tires under yellow on lap 10. Pitted under yellow on about lap 36 and came out P16. Tool tires again under yellow on lap 45 I knew if I saved tires I could gain ground on a long run because everyone else was obviously wasting theirs. Caution came out again with 2 laps to go. That put me in P9. Another quick yellow put me in P8. On the second GWC five cars in front of me overdrove and bumped each other. I shot into P3 coming out turn two and stayed there for a podium. Man, I thought that crash on the start ruined my race, but I never gave up.

IMSA

  • Brad – P5 Suzuka (RAIN) What a challenge this was! Turning laps versus racing is night and day. Had to learn to avoid the spray and manage a wet line that was changing. Even though it was 45 minutes of butt pucker, it was fun and I think that iRacing really nailed this.
    • P17 Sebring-Started P12 and was running in top 10 till a car rejoined the track in the LeMans Chicanes and hit me in the right rear. With 6 minutes required and the race was done but I did make a few final laps for SR.


League / Hosted Races

Hosted- 

  • Ellis- p Shane Van Gburg and hosted a road Atlanta event which I joined and didn’t do very well in. This was fun when I jumped in. It was a drying track, and he was trying to hot lap before the rain started again.  of course he was fastest. I couldn’t even keep it on the track at all, but he was flying around there. It’s always a pleasure to run with Shain. I think he’s gonna be my man in NASCAR I’ll be pulling for.
    • FIAF4 @Snetterton. First time trying Dan Suzuki’s 360 Hz profile after the semi cube update. Started at 16th got to ninth on the first lap steadily worked my way forward and finished P3 on the podium!! Force feedback feels really good.

Friday Open – Phoenix

  • Mike -P7- had a great run was running as high as second basically top five most of the day near the end I was running fourth and I got ran over in the middle of the corner from behind me back to 11th was able to rally back to seventh. 
  • David – P wreck, my usually get caught in someone elses mess.  Ran clean all race, on the way to a top 10, then two guys hit each other multiple times and I end up meatballed
  • Chris Waldron-P.15  drive-through penalty near the end.  24x from getting bumped. Good track but it’s a crap show on the dessert. . 
  • Kyle -P blinking issue
  • John -P18  Lap 10 some cars wrecked in front of me. I slowed down gently but the guy behind me was not looking ahead and plowed into the back of me. It pushed in hard into the wrecked cars. Had about 5 minutes of optional that took forever to get done; about 8 pit stops. Ruined my race early. 14 cautions. That’s one every 10 laps. Totally unacceptable. I think this was typical all week for everybody. 
  • Brad – P wrecked. Started on pole but was not in the correct gear. Settled in at p10 but was caught up in a wreck on lap 23.

Sunday Open- Phoenix

  • Mike- P wrecked out. had a pretty uneventful race was running fifth with about 45 to go after a restart. The guy in front of me wouldn’t go. I was kind of frustrated coming up about a turn too. I turned the wheel to the left just a hair too much and it hooked back to the right hard and I caused the big one damage I was done.
  • Chris- P9 got wrecked several times early on lost some laps. Was able to get back on the lead lap. Cautions and pit strategy went my way. Officially joined the 3000 club with iRaiting 
  • David – P got intentionally wrecked.  He got suspended
  • Brian C – P running top five P2 for the longest time only took right on a stop and had to take the other ones and lost track position. Something weird at the end like he beat the pace car to the checker.?

Sunday Fixed-Phoenix

  • Mike- p5- had a good run round top 10 basically both of the race got up to 16 X with actually no damage at all and brought it home P5

Wednesday Open – Bristol 

  • Mike- P15 T-bone the guy real hard in the first caution. Five minutes damage struggled to stay on the lead lap after that run near the back got caught up at a two other cautions for additional damage. Got a third wreck to get me to 16 X with 70 to go basically just try to keep it on the end of the lead lap and that’s where I finished P 15.  
  • David – P wrecked out at end by dirty driving
  • Justin – P wrecked out rage quit
  • Brad – P 2 What a challenging race. Started p6 and grabbed the lead early on. Lead a total of 59 laps. Made a mistake during the first pitstop, overshot. Restarted p8 and drove up to 5th before getting turned. Slid the whole front stretch and lost a lap waiting for everyone to pass. Decided to pit and get tires instead of getting the wave around(in hindsight this was a mistake). Went through a bunch of yellows to finally get my lap back. Once back on the lead lap drove back to front and survived multiple yellows. Final G/W/C and was in p2. Made two shots to pass on the inside but just could not get the drive off the corner. I should have tried the top but felt like my tires were better than the leader. Happy with a p2 and will go for another shot on Friday.
  • Kyle p15 – got a passing under yellow and went down four laps

Thursday Open-Bristol 

  • Mike- P wrecked out kept getting involved and everyone else’s incidents. I have zero luck.

Official Series

Ellis– 

  • IndyCar IRacing series at Sebring P7 got ran over from behind from a guy not once, but twice the same guy as I was pitting for damage, he ran over another guy, but anyway kept on ended up getting a drive-through penalty for too many incidents, but still brought it home P7. Thanks to a ton of attrition.
  • FIAF4 @Snetterton racing circuit. Qualified 13th out of 22. got completely wrecked in an incident on lap one put me back to dead last work my way back up to finish P 14.

Kerley

  • C – Trucks. P8. Finally, a clean race. Only one caution; that is unheard of these days. I gambled and stayed out on tires 55 laps. Actually gained 2 spots but too far behind to get to the lead pack. I’ll take a top 10 anyday and 44 IR points.

B Open

  • Brad – P8 Had a great race in the Xfinity car. Was surprised how much better the racing was compared to NiS. Started p11 and ran in top 10 most of the race. It was hard to pass but the racing was very clean and respectful. Most fun I have had in a few weeks.

NASCAR iRacing Series

Thursday fixed -Las Vegas

John- P14. This was a good clean race. I missed qual and started 25th. Got stuck behind slower cars but just could not pass them. Could not find the line to get around anyone.

Friday Open – Las Vegas

  • Mike –P 14 no incident was basically garbage all night ran between 20th and dead last somehow on the last restart brought it from 19th up to 14th. I’ll take it.
  • David – P8, got turned early but got needed caution, worked way up and some miracle misses of wrecks to survive for 8th
  • Chris Waldron–P7. Car had great long run speed. Moved to the high line when the tires aged. 15th with two to go and finished 7th. Broke personal iR record and broke 2900 barrier. 

Brad – p 8 Finally put a full race together. Started p17 and drove up to p12 early. Got too aggressive and slipped through 1 and 2 and fell back to p26. Long run speed was great and drove back to p13 before the green flag stops. Race ran its course naturally and was able to grab a p8 with some great battle for position as the laps wound down.

Sunday Open- Las Vegas

  • Mike- P 17 ran pretty good as high assix. I had some confidence going but the last half of the race I kept getting snappy loose and having a slam on the break and lose all my track position I suck.
  • Chris- P 12. Car had great long run speed. Kept the nose in clean air. Did my best to avoid the 21 car who got in the way of everyone. iR now at all-time high 2962
  • David – P wrecked out intentionally.  People think if they aren’t at the corner but over drive it they are allowed to just drive through.  And because of the sham of the protest 
  • Tony – Pwrecked had a fast car, led laps but had 1 of those everything is fine til it wasn’t. Just lost it out of 2 and into the inside wall while in 4th with 29 to go

Brian C – Had high hopes for this one coming off a open win that morning… qualified Pole.. led the first 50+ laps but made some bad adjustments during pit stops and I just lost it running top 5 a the time. Fixed some damage but could only manage a P17 with the damage

Wednesday Open – Phoenix 

  • Mike- P got ran over from behind the fourth caution on lot 2012 second optional… ran really good after that as high as P2 was running fourth with four to go and got destroyed with a drive-through penalty. P23
  • David – P 12 lost positions on a late restart, sloppy ass caution fest
  • Brad – P10 A race that I never thought would end. Started p3 but got turned about lap 30 and collected damage. Went a lap down but because of the 17 cautions, I was able to get my lap back and fix all 4:30 minutes of damage. Drove back to p8 on GWC but pushed up off T2 and collected another car turning him. Managed to finish p10. 68/136 under yellow, UNREAL! 
  • TonyP16 I absolutely hate the dipping Dogleg. Kept get pounded from guys over driving the corners. caught in a late wreck that had a guy clip Kyle and hell ensued.

Thursday Open-Phoenix 


Mike- had a pretty clean race going started in the back gradually worked my way forward was running fourth with a caution with 27 to go bunch  him back up. Then it was caution fest from there kind of got screwed at the end and got a P 10.

Official Series

Ellis– 

  • FIAF4 at the ring first lap, final corner I’m coming around and there’s somebody shooting sideways on the track I T-bone him. P 22.
  • 13th week wet and wild at Laman spun coming to the green was dead last in 23rd got ran over at one point with four minutes of towing brought it home P5 in my first ever rain race in the Cadillac GTP
  • Ran it again and was running P4 with two minutes to go, and I overcooked the corner and killed it

Road to Pro

Chris Waldron – P17. Was Top 5 all race and took Fuel only on tires 8 laps old. That was a mistake. Went from first to worst. Late caution helped me drive back up. 406th in points

B Open   

John – P8.  Started 11th.Way too many cautions. 25% of the race was under yellow. Cars were all over the place. The last half I just drove defensively to stay out of the way of the craziness. Probably could have finished top 5, but was happy to finish with zero X

C Open

John K –  P21. This was the “smog race”. There was a crazy haze all over. I had a winner in this truck. Problem was I lost the back end four times coming out of turn 2. I was in the top 5 each time and lost 15 plus spots. Cold tires were the problem. Just dumb driving on my part.  It took  5 to 7 laps to get the heat I needed but I was too impatient to wait. It cost me big time. 

P8. This was a fun one. Only one caution. Of course, I was in it when a guy decided to turn up into me on the back straight. I didn’t give up though. No damage to the truck so I lost no speed. Was in 20th on the restart and worked my way up toward the end as most guys used up their tires. Probably could have gain another 3 spots but lappers wanted to race me side by side and ruin my chances. Oh well, thats racing

NASCAR iRacing Series

Thursday fixed -Atlanta

Mike- P got a pretty good race going, but there was a blinker that was really bad and everyone told him to go to the back but he said I can’t turn off my stream. There’s nothing I can do. He eventually wrecked the field and I got caught up 3 1/2 minutes damage with 35 to go.

Friday Open – Atlanta

Mike -dnf again. Was minding my own business running fifth right after halfway second third tangle Richard I go to miss it I barely clip them seven minutes damage.  

Justin – P6, tried a little different strat. I didn’t qualify. I started in the back. It took it really easy until the last 10 laps to go worked my way to 6th.

David – P WRECKED,  Run top 5 whole fucking race, we are saving fuel running the out side lane and the guy in front of me gets stuck on the wall and slows up so much it wrecks me.  Then all goes to shit and I get 20x in 10 minutes including what was nothing but a push.

Chris Waldron– P19. Took the white flag up high on 5th spot. Leaders wrecked and I almost missed it, but got clipped in my bumper. 

Sunday Open- Atlanta

Mike- p2- we ended up with green flag stops and at one point my screen froze and I fell from six to 202nd and a millisecond the weirdest thing ever and anyway with all the late cautions I just stayed up front and on the final restart was able to get from 6 to 2nd almost won it. 

Chris- p15. Got caught up in a wreck on the last lap while running 7th. 131st in points. 

David – p5 – things finally fell my way

Justin -p35, my group come upon a lap car he could hold a line and wreck most of us.

Tony – p5 been sick last few days and needed to get a start in. Started mid pack and got caught in getting tagged in a few peoples spins. Finished in double gwc without a front end 

Chris – p 15. Ran in the front all race. Leaders had a check up late. Lost the front pack of 6. Got wrecked last lap to finish 15th. 

Greg -wrecked out first lap

Sunday Fixed-Atlanta

Mike- p19- total shit show I kept getting involved and everybody’s cautions. I got dequeued out as I crossed the checkered flag P19

Justin –.p14, worked my way to the front lined up p1 on a gwc again made it to turn 3 on the white and a guy tries to pass me under the red line wrecks me.

John – P23. Too many guys who have no patience. I got caught up in other people’s messes. Nothing wrong with fixed races, but it seems to always be a poop show.

Wednesday Open – Las Vegas 

Mike- P 16 had a pretty good race going until about a little after halfway and got totally collected in a giant wreck. Six minutes damage was able to hold onto the lead lap and finish last car on the lead lap P 16.

David – p 21, didn’t have good speed, but found something on the last run that I was doing wrong.  Nice to go caution free though and I got some much needed SR after the last 2 weeks.

Justin – p15 the hardest p15 i ever raced for i didnt make many mistakes could have gain some on better strat.

John – p6.. Ran conservative the first half of the race to save tires. We had three early cautions and then a 50 lap green flag run. Leaders pitted a little early in that stint. Pitted with 47 laps on the tires and was still running decent laps. Staying out helped a lot; by the time everything sorted out I was up to P12 from P19. We had three cautions in the last ten laps; I went from 10th, then 12th, then 11th on the GWC. Got by 4 cars while driving the inside line. 

Tyler – P11. Caution during green flag stops with 20 to go ruined the gamble on pit road. Fast speed on the long runs taking care of the right front. Ran to 14th then a caution setting up the GWC to finish 11th. Happy with the finish and the 0x, ill t

Brad –.p27 Started p19 but never could get moving forward as it was yellow after yellow. Tried to gain track position after a quick yellow by staying out about 45 laps into the race. That worked and had driven up to just outside the top 10. Then was caught up in an accident. Meatball and wheel damage put me laps down and back to 34. Fixed damage and soldiered on and was able to gain 7 spots from the continued cautions. The lack of race craft was astounding as we could hardly get 10 laps in without a caution. Race finished with 10 yellows in a 134 lap race. Will try again on Friday night.

Thursday Open-Las Vegas

Tony – P10 Was a p1-3 car til i kept hitting the wall on exit and fell 3/4 way through the race but made it back to top 10 with no nose and a janty wheel

Ellis– 

FIAF 4 @bat hurst. Qualified seventh out of 20. By the end of lap 1 I was in an incident fell to P 12 then worked my way up in several battles to finish P3! Great podium bathurst 10 laps

Kerley–

Draftmaster P22. On lap 3 a goofball took it 3 wide in turn  3 and took us both out. It was a typical draftmaster move by the miscreant. He had no reason to think it would work and he had to know better; but that  never matters in these races. Oh well, still addicted to the rush. 

Dirt street stocks at Limaland. P5. I do like the dirt. Should do it more often. I started near the back and picked up spots just watching people wreck. I’m gonna do more of these.

A Open-Las Vegas

Chris W – P5. Was leading bottom row with 1 to go  but top was just a bit faster.  Ellis- wrecked out, took a guy three wide on the outside. He couldn’t hold the Lane in the middle. He came up and destroyed us.

John K – P 9, Unusually clean race for Atlanta. Only 4 cautions. I think I had a fast car but passing is so tough here. Caught on the outside for quite awhile and that lane just could not move up. Not a bad finish, but felt it could have been better.

Brad W – P5 Car had so much speed on the long run. Drove up to p3 on a 45 lap run. Green flag stops and drove back to p5. Had I had another 15 laps, I think I could have driven to the lead.

Tyler- P13. Solid speed all race hanging mid pack with a green flag stop with about 40 to go. A bit slow on pit road entry cost spots but wound up cycling through to a P13 with a 0x. Best part was watching teammate Brad kick butt on the long runs .Fun race.

NASCAR iRacing Series

Friday Open – 

  • Mike -.  P6 early on. There was a big wreck where the leader on the front row. Bottom kept hitting the apron and he basically lost it took out the field. I barely missed that one. Later had a situation where my screen froze for about four seconds. Lost a bunch of track position. Ended up losing a lap eventually gained that lap back on track before a caution. while under caution, one guy was really slow to come around to pit Road, so we were all stopped at the entrance of Pitt Road, and some guy came up and ran into the back of me and gave me the drive-through penalty. Was able to catch a caution after that penalty was served and kept on the lead lap and then I started getting involved in incidents and got to 24X on the second green wide checker they wreck and I’m able to drive through and finish P6. 
  •  Justin –  p32 the race had 3 cautions by lap 10. I was in the last caution meatball
  • David – p 11 dumped late in the race
  • Chris Waldron-p 13. Got spun with 60 to go. Cautions flags did not come out to get repaired. 
  • Tyler – P black flag. Running 4 on the last lap and got a massive run on the front 3. A block sent me high and got loose bumping the wall giving me my 18x. Crossed the line in 4th place but finished P16. Really bummed out about a 3.5 hour race and getting the black flag on the last turn. Shoulve just rode it out in 4th. All other inciden points were getting turned or cut down. One 4x was on me for bump draft that was not a 4x. Incident points at Daytona were sus. 
  • Tony -P11 with a new paint job The Dark Birb Rises car started in the 7th spot. About 7 laps later while just cruising with my draft buffer, dude behind me decided I wanted to bump the hell out of me causing me to exit stage left on the back straight and lose the draft. For the rest of the race I was trying to play catch up. In a race typically full of chaos and mayhem there was none for the ¾ of the race. Only 1 caution in 150 laps. Within that time frame I ran out of gas short of my pit on my first GF stop. 2nd GF i was just before the line before the first caution came out. I was stuck behind dumbass drivers who couldn’t hold a line nor knew how to push or be pushed. At 1 time I was 2 laps down but last quarter we had our shenanigans made those back up to finish on the lead lap. Thank you Brian McChicken for making a awesome paint for the Chubby Birb. but think he forgot to grease the car down for aero
  • John -p25. This race was the poster child for why we need stages in these long races. Only 9 cars finished on the lead lap. First pit stop was under green. I was in 9th at the time. Somebody wrecked me in the pits and I had to go back on the track and try again. This put me a lap down and I never recovered. First caution on lap 45 I somehow got a passing under yellow. No idea how it happened. Now I’m two laps down. No cautions for another 130 laps. Hence, we need stages. Field was so spread out there were no chances to catch anybody. The most boring race I’ve ever been in. 
  • Joe- p? Wrecked 
  • Tom- p

Saturday Fixed- 

  • John – P5. Started P12. My strategy was to stay in back pack to avoided the wrecks. It worked. Had 9 cautions. I was in 15th on the last lap when the front runners decided to have the big one. I passed the junkyard of wreck racers and made it up to 5th. Don’t like laying back, but I knew that was the only to get a decent finish considering what had been happening all week at Daytona. 

Sunday Open- 

  • Mike- P 14- add an up-and-down race I lead laps for a while it was green forever. At one point I slid through the pit road and lost the pack, but eventually caught a caution that saved me but after that just keep getting caught up in issues and wrecks, and wasn’t a great finish
  • Chris- PP20. Went a lap down under green and missed like lucky dog 4 times
  • David – P 19 ran in the front all race, but caught in enough indents that the final wreck at the checkered penalized me.
  • Justin – P32 again, green flag run lap 125 we go in for fuel the guy behind me runs me over on entry going into the pits i manage to keep it straight, hit my box and on exit the same guy is behind me, straight up runs me over on the exit of pit road and i hook right and junk my car!

Sunday Fixed- 

  • Mike- P2- was running third on the White had a run on the top two I went high on them and at the line I lost it by about a foot. Pretty uneventful race otherwise. 
  • Justin –p4, Stayed conservative i was desperate for a good finish. I led 11 laps it was a solid finish. I will take a finish like this anytime.

Wednesday Open: 

  • Mike- P got caught up in the first caution. I was right behind the two people who sped out 2 1/2 minutes optional dam. The next job should I get ran over from behind another Forex. then I get destroyed when somebody else basically breaks me and I get ran over from behind and the car gets heavily damaged. No caution. Total shit show from that point forward I end up with the drive-through penalty and eventually D queued out with about three to go.

  • David – p12, this aint racing, this is shit, and passing under the line on the front at this type of track is TRASH
  • Kyle- P 
  • Justin – P30 ran the race in the top 10 half the race. Just caught up in somebody else’s wreck, nothing I can do. I have dropped 400 IR in 2 weeks because of these speedway tracks. I guess I gotta get better and stay up front.
  • Brad – P19. Started p5. Ran up front until lap 100 when the yellows started. Got caught up in the big one. Lost a lap and never got the car fixed. Very frustrating result.
  • Mackenzie – P

Thursday Open: 

  • Mike- P riding along in tenth, approaching green Flagstop. The front groups about the pull in some loser doesn’t realize it and shoots from the bottom to the top and destroys everybody in the outside lane, including me 29 required for 11 optional.

Official Series

Ellis– 

  • FIAF4 at Okayama. The Sim would not load and crashed at 90%.  I finally hit launch again and it ended up crashing the entire computer, after the reboot, my computer went through windows updates, and had to reboot again. and even more windows updates. Gridded P7 as I missed qualifying and got to 12th by lap one seventh by lap three and went on to finish the race in P5 baby.

Wrenn-

  • Ran various B and C races never really got a great finish. Glad to see Daytona in the rear view.

Road to Pro

  • Chris Waldron – P15. Early big one on lap 17. Green flag the rest of the way. Lost lead pack on pit stops. Ended clean. 435th in points. 

B Open

   John –P5. Qualified P5. Stayed up front the whole race. Had two cautions so I was able to fuel up under yellow. Lot of close racing. Good draft. Everyone in front kept is clean, until we got to the start finish line and some knucklehead to create a hole that didn’t exist and wrecked a few cars, including me. Luckily, we were close enough to the end that I did not lose a spot.  

C Open

John P19 at Daytona. Was running 9th and moving forward. It was short lived though. On lap 11 I was on the inside line. The eventual winner was right next to me on the outside in turn 3. He decided he would rather have my lane, so he turned sharp left into me and into the wall. He claims his spotter said he was clear. If that is true then he was using the Stevie Wonder spotter pack. Never, fails, the guys who wreck me always win or at least finish in the top 5. Guess I need to do what they do. 

John P8. Got to race with team mate Bobby Jonas. We were strong. Running 3rd and 4th. The leaders decided to pit. Bobby and me decided to stay out one more lap. Unfortunately, a guy coming on our outside decided to pit from the outside land and took us both out. We recovered well and made our way back up to the lead pack. Brian M – Didn’t qualify, started towards the back.  Got near the front and was wall-slammed on the outside by a car that got turned on the bottom.  Worked on damage under cautions but was off pace.  Got damage fixed by last caution which was a GWC.  Restarted in 17th and got thu all the trouble and wound up in an embarrassing 3rd place.


League / Hosted Races

OBRL ARCA Brian – Las Vegas 35 cars.  P 16 Qualified 17 Stayed in mid pack, but moved up just outside the top 10.  Cars wrecked in front of me late in the race,  Was ok to finish, but dropped to 16

-Doubled staffed during Covid, increasing to 130 employees.
-Continuing to progress with the graphics improvements. Have come along ways but we have a long ways to go.
-Talk about the damage model project. Really stick to being realistic.


-Rain and weather confirmed in March build. He said it out loud. He said they could’ve released it in December He said they may have over engineered it. Nobody’s ever done rain in a racing game like this. He said for the next year‘s, Daytona, 24 your team will definitely be worrying about if it’s going to rain and stuff like that.


-Talked a bit about the popularity of the Coke series and how it’s grown over recent years the price pool. How is that successful? Basically the 40 drivers are the best in the world. We have the best NASCAR simulator.

-Discussion about AI and how they’ve really developed it well but there’s nothing else around it. They don’t have a career mode because the focus is always been on multiplayer. So that’s the next step of the evolution building a career mode. This is already in full development they have a dedicated team on it. He’d like to have it out next year. #Soon.

-Discussion about acquiring the NASCAR license for console, a complicated three way deal they had been working out for a long time that was the ultimate goal to get it. They bought Monster Games as the first step to acquiring it. He gave kudos to motorsports games, saying they wanted what was best for the community by making sure that we got the assets. They increased Monster Games from 20 people to 35 people for the effort. There’s engineers on loan to them and they’re obviously using the cars and tracks that iRacing already has. They’re going to bring all the current NASCAR tracks and iRacing up to spec and updated Then they import them into the console.
-He asked about Trading Paints type integration into the console. He said it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen.


-There are open to talks of doing an IndyCar game at some point but basically said he doesn’t want to bite off more than they can chew insinuating that they can’t take on the IndyCar game while doing the NASCAR game they didn’t want to do the same thing that motorsports game did and get overloaded

-More to come on the world of outlaws franchise, hinting that they’re not a one and done there.

-Discussion about the upcoming game called Exo-Cross a futuristic, off-road fantasy driving game

Results

NASCAR iRacing Series

  • John – P23. This was awful. Started P5. Ran great and caution free the first 37 laps. After that, we had 12 cautions. I avoided the first 2 of those but then got hammered from there on. Bad luck started for me when a lap car decided to change lanes when I was right beside him and pushed me into the wall. Got rear ended three times checking up for wrecks. Then, the guy ahead of me kept blocking me and ended my night. 25 damage points and I got DQ’d. I did not cause any of this. Had fun running with team mate Tony Rochette; we got to hook up a few times and talked in team chat. That was a big help. Learned a lesson: might as well hang back the first 150 laps because there is no other way to avoid the madness. There will be plenty of chances to catch up. Not the strategy most people use, but I see no other way in my splits. That is what I will do tomorrow.
  • Brad – p11-Started p5 and ran in the front for most of the race. Ended up on a short pit strategy that had the race played all the way out would have hurt the finish. Ran green the first ⅔ of the race and then the wrecking started. Was p3 on final restart but got shuffled out and with no help ended up p11.
  • Rochette P13 NiS is back bitches. Starting on the front row with the 2023 chubby birb on a darkhorse Mustang got to the lead on the back and led the first 12 laps than fell back because leading is for losers. Did get caught in avoiding few peoples spins but the crew did a awesome job patching it up with no damage. Til with 12 or 10 to go was on the outside and had a lapper hit me harder than a toddler at Kmart and sent me into the wall and just about Killed the car but i still maintained lead lap so there’s that.. here is to ‘24 NiS season.
  • Justin P4, real solid race first time on a super speedway that I stayed in the front pack the whole race, stayed consistent running top 10 made it to 5 to go and caution. So everybody pits for fuel. I had a good pit stop and came out P1 for the G/W/C. This is where I choked. I was sleeping on the restart and outside lane got a run then I got shuffled back but managed to climb to P4. I would give anything to retry the restart again. You live and you learn.
  • Mike- p running about 10 around lap 20 a huge check up. I plowed into a guy and he spun hard into the wall. I actually got no damage from that incident. after that I keep getting run into from behind in check ups and ended up with 16 X by lap 77 that I had 37 seconds damage. 83. Greg tried to dunk in behind me, and I got turned another caution and that gave me a drive-through penalty under green flag. One minute 30 seconds optional. able to catch a caution before I got laughed and stayed on the lead lap. I get another 4X for 24 incidents in a simple check up. 57 to go restarted off of caution on starting T2. Got ran over from behind again with 38 to go and D queued out.
  • Greg – p 
  • David – P 9  competitive.  Caught up in wrecks twice.  Last one was a 30 second meat ball.  But happened at the front so many good cars were hurt.  Limped home in 9th with 5 minutes of option damage left.                       
  • Bobby P1 – Started p2, led laps early on, knew we had a solid rocket under us. Led a total of 65 laps. Lots of long green flag runs, multiple stops under green really made for small packs, with some good help we stayed on the lead lap. The 2 main groups were offset on stops by about 15 laps. Yellow with about 30 or so to go, brought everyone back together. Series of quick yellows, worked our way back up to the front after getting some small damage repaired. Wreck on white flag lap split the pack into small pieces. 1st place and me got way out front, lucky for me 3rd was able to miss wreck and steam coming towards us, timed the block and moved high for him to push me out front for the win. Have to say thanks to Declan Derba for drafting with me almost the entire race. Ian White and Zachary King for the help during the middle and end. Ian was the one that pushed us for the win, Zach was multiple laps down due to a connection problem, he reconnected and pushed Ian and me, even stopped on pit road when he didn’t need to, making sure how small draft pack stayed together.  

Official Series

Brian M-

Kerley- 

  • Draftmaster P4. Top 4 were the only ones who didn’t wreck. We weaved through the carnage and had a good clean finish.
  • Draftmaster P17. We had a rogue driver in the race who wrecked just about everybody, including me. Naturally, as is always the case, the offending driver finished in the top 10.
  • A Open P26. Not a good race for me. Got taken out 3 times and just could not keep up with the pack.
  • B Open John P14. Was running up front  most of the race. Then, the usual carnage for my splits. The setup was great and had winner potential. B cars are easy to drive but for most people keeping the car in one is a mystery. Oh well, I’ll run another.
  • C Open-
    • P17. Somehow got stuck in the top split. Qualified P20. These guys were fast. I got behind some not so good drivers at the start. I was faster than they were but could not seem to pass. It took me quite awhile to figure out the best racing line on older tires. Finally figured out the third line was the way to go. Got around a couple of cars on a green white checker. Picked up a whopping 2IR. Seems like I always get schooled when I race with 5k drivers, and this was no exception
    • P20. Was in the top 10 on the last lap and two guys crashed and took me out. Boneheaded moves on their part. Ruined a great run.

  • A Open p14-Started p2 and ran in the front all race. Very aggressive driving from the start. Guys going 3 and 4 wide on lap 7. Ended up being spun off T2 lost draft and pitted by myself. Got the lucky dog and fought back to front. Wreck in the front that did not bring out a yellow but had to back way off to avoid. Became separated but hooked up with the third group drove back to second to get wrecked in the trioval. Should have had a much better finish than I did.


League / Hosted Races

Updated NASCAR Templates

All 3 cup templates were updated the other day with information from the Clash. Toyota and Chevy had spec channel updates. Ford Mustang also has spec channel updates, along with revisions to the upper headlight area identity package. Fair warning, the whole upper headlight area on the Ford will be mandatory stamped the next patch we release.

NASCAR iRacing Series

Justin- Well I was going to come on the Pod and share the exciting news but the dongle on my headset died darn it but I did manage to clinch not 1 but 2 championships in Division 2. Gotta Thank my team, Tifisio for guiding me in the right direction cause I still don’t know what i’m doing half the time. Lol. Made a little spreadsheet when I was keeping track of points because it was close between me and the guy in second place in both series and It was the same guy in both series also. Had a blast in this series and I learned a lot! Thanks Everybody!

Ellis– 

  • DraftMaster COT car at Talladega I couldn’t resist the lure. qualified fourth. Get the wall just once and that put me back was able to rally back to finish P6.
  • Chris McGuire hosted three different Indy cars at Michigan winner winner, chicken dinner. I smoke them all.
  • 87 at Talladega came from dead last of the seventh, but then got wrecked out
  • COT at Talladega. Wrecked out 
  • Old IndyCar at Michigan winner winner, chicken dinner I roast it!

Kerley

  •     Draftmaster P6, 13, and 25. What can I say. The usual adrenaline rush with crash avoidance (almost).

League / Hosted Races

   Winter Series League – 

  • John – P17 forgot to pit went 3 laps down. Was out of sequence with everyone else. Got lapped. Pitted again late and went even more laps down. But, zero X. 
  • Brad – p18. Had the opportunity to get a great result with pit strategy but blew that when making the last pit stop and only took left side tires. Had to pit again for rights and that dropped me two laps down. To add insult to injury (first from my teammates) I was dropped from the server with about 10 laps to go. Had fun but I’m glad it is over.
  • Mike- p started dead last worked. My way up got involved in the first wreck couldn’t miss it. About one minute damage on the second caution actually got ran into from behind well after the yellow came out, it ended up hitting at that point, and then driving from dead last up to second. Headed under green with 50 to go and cycle 1/ ninth work my way up to six with about eight laps to go I get dropped from the server don’t get disconnected in discord at all but IRacing drops my sorry ass connection Dnf.
