From their work, my way clear to the lead and lead the last run actually, pulling away from the field gapping them as we came to the end of the race. Definitely earned that one career win number 93.
Rochette P forgot to take tires on the last run
Justin – p 19, qualified 17th took a lot of damage in the beginning, put me a lap down, stayed a lap down until the end. I just needed a caution. At the end I was the candidate for the lucky dog. Glad to see a teammate win

Some guy is warming his tires and spins out which caused me to get rear ended not gonna be into the air did the green came out and they piled up and I put all but eight of us a lap down where the entire field had to take a wave around. Stay green after that fitting after the halfway point from P78 laps later a caution ended up staying out saving the last set for the next caution but it never came and I faded back to finish 12.

Hello,
This is Jeremy Mauro from SM-Racing Products. We greatly appreciate you guys discussing our button box on episode 0375 “Natural A.I.”. We listened to what you had to say and made some changes! The newest version of our box (currently live on our website sm-racingproducts.com) is 35mm thinner (slightly above a 40% reduction). We updated our website to include a description of each of the switches and functions they are commonly used for in iRacing so there is no more guessing! We also changed the finish of the faceplate to have a carbon fiber look while retaining the custom text.
Thank you and feel free to share, Jeremy Mauro SM-RacingProducts@sm-racingproducts.com (785)-633-1576

Mike -. P . 18 – lost Internet connection briefly and dropped from the server by the time I re-joined. I was four laps down. I was only able to get it back to three laps down finished P 18.
Greg- p21?
David – P 26, didn’t know I had gotten 16x, hit cars wrecking at the finish got dropped a lap

Tom-p19
Sunday Open
Donnie – P6, Q10
David – P15 To many some mistakes on my own, but lost a few spots and end cause a lap down driver who was mad dove bomb into a 3 wide
Wednesday Open: Talladega
Rochette -P19 racing felt different from plate racing in the past. Never seen the outside have such domance. I usually just hang out on the bottom but just kept getting my ass kicked. Even led a few laps than the outside just ran a ttain on my ass and went 1st to 18th on a straight away. Had a good run going on a white and front wrecked and just killed me before the checkered
Justin- P 13, started 2nd real clean race. Ran a solid race just need to work on the little things. Leaders just executed well.
Mike- p5- put it under green. We waited one lap after the leaders and they basically got a 10 second lead on us. By the end of it there was a three of them in a breakaway and so we were fighting for the fourth place that I finished fifth
McKenzie- p11, started pole was running great until i got caught up in a wreck and had 4 ½ minutes damage and couldn’t keep pace, fixed the damage and could keep up being only 2 laps down but then got caught in another wreck and got a black flag for too many incident points, ended up finishing p11 down 5 laps
David – p18 caught up in late wrecks, feel like a made a tactical mistake late and got stuck in the wrong lane loosing to much track position.
Kyle P
Tyler- P 20, lost the pack on my own simply getting a drink. Was the last car in the pack with teammates and just couldn’t get back. Extremely frustrating race as strategy bit the big one. Finished with a meatball across the line with a 8x caught up in a mosh pit after the white. I did have a great time racing with Justin and Mike. Wish we had more on that top line.
Thursday Open
Ellis -P Dave clean most of the rays ran in the top 5 to 10 at the lead with about 25 to go and we finally get our first caution with seven to go. I lead the next restart. Five to go I’m leading the bottom Lane two cars behind me. One car goes below the yellow he comes up. I go in front of him and he hooks playing and turned me down to the wall 11 minutes damage DNF.
Donnie – Q4, P20
Official Series
Ellis– Iro4 at rudskogen I got wrecked out in turn one lap one from behind then I couldn’t find it road so I raged quit Dallara dash at Michigan- wrecked out lap 2 Gen 4 Daytona. I was just riding in the front back and somebody pushed up into the wall and I got a piece of it 30 seconds required and 430 optional. I then lost the pack after the restart I saw the yellow come out I saw one guy sitting sideways on the track. I’m like I’m gonna go underneath him and go on by cause he was stopped but as I was approaching, he decided to go, and it looked like he was going to go high so I went low and then he suddenly went low and then I ran over him Gen. 4 at Daytona, took the lead with about 20 to go within command of the race on the bottom front lane. The guy behind me was trying to push and turn me and we wrecked the entire field. Was damaged, but able to stay on the lead lap, and with the carnage at the end, drive through the racks and finish P 13. Pick up cup at Phoenix start at 12 got to eight but faded to finish night pretty straightforward race. Gen 4 at California top split with several pros and many heavy hitters. Started 24th ended up 24th ravens highest bill that got wrecked at one point.
A Open Hall – p Ellis -p qp2- stay green and we had a green flag. Stop stayed in the top five the top 10 but eventually cautions restarting third was 16 to go. I was on the bottom and got totally shuffled back to 17 another gosh later on back up to the ninth start with eight to go. Get to the leave pretty quickly and kept it through the first Greenway checker on the final restart on my first car on the outside coming. The guy third on the bottom pulls up in front of me. He’s too slow we rock the field I finish P 13.
Mackenzie
B fixed – p15 started 2nd and was running well but had guys trying to go 3 wide in the first 5 laps and got turned and never recovered from it

The Sim Racing Garage Reviews Moza Racing’s HGP Shifter
Fit and Finish was great, you have to have the software running in the background all the time which is a bit annoying… feels solid but a hint of shaft flex during aggresive driving… No sequential function…
Gomex Sim Racing reveals their new ‘entry level’ sim racing gormuls wheel
Jonathan Giakonoski Looks great and what I’d expect from GSI ~Buuuuuut~ The dual clutch option is uncomfortably close in price to the GRID MPX which has much more functionality, telemetry-driven RGB, and is also their “entry level” (lol). And that’s not even accounting for when their pre-order price was the same as this. The functionality is just a little bit more than a Polsimer, which is a true entry level wheel at a true entry level price that doesn’t feel particularly entry level in hand. This absolutely deserves to cost more, but not two times more. Not sure who this is priced for–brand loyalists aren’t looking for an entry level wheel, and it’s only a dub fifty more to upgrade from this to a forever-wheel.

The Most Realistic Sim Racing Wheel Settings
Daniel Morad gives settings for the most realistic settings for Sim Racing
DR Orzy in Discord: “The way he does it is exactly how I have been running it with 100% in Truedrive and then just dial it in sim (from there) with the Wheel Force. Ive heard some people do it the other way and I think they are missing out on the fidelity and everything the wheel base can give you if you turn it down in the wheelbase software.”
Mike – “Yeah I am doing the same as Daniel and Dr Orzy….. Always running at 100% force in the wheel software, then run a couple of laps, F9, hit the AUTO, button, run a few laps after Auto to see what we got at full strength… Then determine if I am going to leave it there, or back it down, just grab the number and bump it up 10 to 20 to lighten up the FFB to a comfort point… Some car track combo’s I will run it where Auto put it’s and pretend I got the popeye arms…. It is a great video especially if you want to dig into the actual wheel settings and learn what each slider does in the TrueDrive software”
The GuelTek P1 3.0 cockpit features rock solid carbon steel construction on the chassis, a wide shoulder racing seat with thick padding, adjustable seat mounting, adjustable pedal plate & wheel deck plate.

Justin- P 17 rough race pitted lap 120 put me in the back then just got beat up.
Mike- p got hit at one point and had to go to the back ended up hitting that boy which was 1/3 of the way through the race worked my way forward and took the lead with 74 to go. Was able to hold them off all the way to the end with short run into green white checkers by 92nd career wins.
David – p 11, another dumb board shit show. I just don’t get why dudes can’t race here. Had to run 100 laps on 16x
Stephen -p3
Thursday Open Ellis -P well did the same strategy where I pitted at the third Waymark but this race I was involved in a lot more different incidents that were really not my doing but by 50 to go I got the drive-through penalty then make things worse I got disconnected from the server for a loss of connection for the first time since I got my new ISP.

Indy pro 2000 at road America. Couldn’t get a cue lap in because I didn’t have the force feedback set right I had it way too low, which intern allowed me to turn the wheel more than I normally should once I got the force feedback, right? It really prevents me from turning the wheel too much physically because my muscles aren’t strong enough kind of thing. Went from 12 to 8 on the first lap but got wrecked out on lap. Six from behind a guy was young drafting catching me and as we approach turn one and I go to break he does plows right in full speed.
Gen 4 at Daytona I missed a big caution early on by driving Low and Missing it, that put me in the top 10 got to the lead with 20 to go before the Caution came out I got to the lead after the restart, but then got wrecked and sent down through the grass, but fell clear to the back and had three minutes damage. Somehow someway made it back to finish P 11 really fun racing. I ran force feedback at 100% and boy what an impressive example of this wheelbase cockpit and seat. It don’t get no rougher than that. I was just hanging on.
Ran again it stayed green pretty much until the leader got turned in the High Lane and wrecked the Field nine minutes damage I limp it home P 19
Sprint Car at Southern National – p11 – 30 cars showed up two splits I was bottom split – ran around tenth – caused 2 cautions spinning on my own off 4 – really tough car…

New Damage Model
With the systemic New Damage Model changes released with 2023 Season 2, many vehicles were in a place of unrealistically higher durability. This Patch completes our post-Season 2 Release assessment for realism and balance for New Damage Model cars that was identified in Patch 2.

Mike -. P 5- took the lead on lap 72 and kept it right up there until the end leading the most laps. I lost the lead with about four to go and got wrecked via NetCode basically. The guy from a higher split on an alternate account, came down to our split the winner, which is pretty irritating.
Rochette- P14 2 days after having a camera shoved in my right knee for a torn Meniscus decided to have some fun at Richmond. Ran with Donnie as we dodged and weaved well we tried. Final gwc started 7th was aiming for a top 10 but my leg mustve twitched or something as i gassed it alittle too much and spun myself out in T2.

Sunday Open
Rochette -P3 wasnt the fastest but consistent stayed out and ended up finishing the race on some old ass tires (96 with about 3 or 4 cautions on em)
Mackenzie – P20 started p7 ran in the top 10 most of the race. Was up to 2nd around lap 110 and had a guy dive in on the inside from behind me as I was turning to the bottom of the corner and got spun
David – P10 Top Split. Good run in a tough field, raced very conservative since didn’t have a good finish in the bank, and had great long run speed.
Sunday Fixed
Mike – p dq’d out 4 to go
Wednesday Open: Bristol dirt
Rochette -P6 17 cautions for 87 laps. Only got 6x for the about the 135 times i got hit and spun. Even had a guy wreck me and shown his displeasure under caution of hitting me multiple times. Ya the birb will remember
Justin- P2, started p2, kinda uneventful race, so many cautions. Didn’t fall back more than 5th. Just tried to not get run over.
Mike- p qualified P5 and pretty much ran top-five all night long as high as second. Got destroyed on the final restart and spa and finished 11th.

Dallara dash at Pocono. Got wrecked off early.
A fixed at Bristol dirt. Q3. Got a black flag on our restart when I was starting second the leader didn’t go at all and I got black flag so the question begs what am I supposed to do if the leader doesn’t go then I don’t go either. Coke Racing – 2 Big News Stories
Coke series driver Vicente Salas gets a real world big win at Hickory Motor Speedway this week with a nice crossover move… Congratulations to Vicente!
Shoutout to Alan Cavanna and Justin Mellilo for reporting on this next story…
In Victory Lane, Reddick credited the work done by one of his 23XI Racing teammates for his speed throughout the event. No, he wasn’t talking about Bubba Wallace or the former Kurt Busch, or even his Team Owner Denny Hamlin. Reddick was speaking about his iRacing’ compatriot’s Keegan Leahy, the 2021 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series champion.
“Keegan really helped me shave off some more time in the simulator, and it really paid off when we got here, it correlated very well,” said Reddick to SiriusXM NASCAR Radio after the race.
Hamlin went on his podcast and spoke about the work that Leahy was already doing for the team, revealing that the top sim driver was more than just one of their iRacers on the team, but also a hired employee of 23XI Racing for this year. “We just recently hired him at our team to work with us, and I know that him and Tyler have worked together quite a bit in preparation for COTA. I was actually there, and I was surprised, I walked into the sim and I’m like, ‘oh, hey Keegan, what’s up? What are you doing here?’ and he was like ‘oh, I’m moving here in a month’.”
Mike Conti said about the situation, “That COTA performance from Reddick, that whole team showed that you can take somebody out of not only just Coke series, but top tier iRacing as a whole, and if they’ve got great knowledge of the garage, and great ability to drive a car to its limit, you can take them throw them in the manufacturer sim, and they can extract just as much, if not more than a real Cup driver that isn’t doing a sim session every day.”

In response to a request for comment, RACER received the following statement from INDYCAR:
“Motorsport Games has reported that they continue to make strides in their development efforts but they do not believe they will be in a satisfactory position to release an INDYCAR game this year.
“We are evaluating this information and remain thoroughly committed to bringing the best quality video game products to the INDYCAR community.”
Skip over the bad news of a more-than-four-million-dollar net loss in Q4 of 2022 alone. And you’ll arrive at the announcement that a total 2022 revenue of $10.3 million led to net losses in excess of $36 million.
Given the studio doesn’t have a successful and current title to rely on, Motorsport Games is in a difficult situation. Negative cash-flow means they are spending more money than they can make. To top off the bad news for Indycar, BTCC, Le Mans Virtual and NASCAR fans, the financial document states the company currently holds around $6 million in cash. The company goes on to mention that “we do not believe we have sufficient cash on hand to fund our operations for the remainder of 2023” and that further investment is needed.

Rochette -P knee surgery
Mike- p 3- ran the back half of the top 10 the first part of the race gradually move by way forward I was coming at the end, but ran out of laps. P3. I tell you wat races like last night, is what this is all about… the feeling I have running third with these fast kids and otherwise. Man. I was coming too. But just the whole investment of my time, energy and money into this hobby….. it all pays off when you have these freakin awesome runs. I’ve never driven so hard in my life. I was shaking like a leaf sweating like a pig, smiling like I was stoned.
McKenzie- p dns.
David – p screwed by VR again, this time was a fresh restart and still got a tracking error that led to a grey screen. I was on the out side so turned right got in on the wall so didn’t hit anyone. No Caution came out, and I just pulled in and rebooted anyway. Ran the rest of the race 17 laps down, had great long run speed, but was also being careful not to take any unnecessary chance or get in the way of a battle. Would pass cars after they couldn’t stay with others. Got a message from Wesley Johnson showing his shitbox rig –
Kyle P wrecked Out
Tyler- P13 started in the back and quickly felt no feedback in the wheel. Managed to keep it straight till first caution and reset wheel. Feedback was fixed but brake and clutch did not calibrate. Was not fun until about halfway until I could fix it again. Finally got it back and drove like hell to snag 13th. #exhausted
Tom- wreacked Out.
Thursday Open Ellis – qualified P5. Was running third and got a bit loose then tagged and spun. One minute damage. Restart and 31st got the 19th by the next caution. The 46 I get tagged in the big one and spun no additional damage but I’m in the back or again. By 102 I’m up to p4. Played in the top five top three right up until the end. Restarted third on green white checkered number one.

Toyota GR 86 @monza finished P7 after getting wrecked on lap one
87 that Talladega P2.
Dallara dash at Daytona. Wrecked out before the end of lap one. Did see a high speed at the end of the backstretch of 254.
Gen 4 Richmond. Had a huge, save where I turned left a really hard down to the grass to drive around a massive pile up. Was able to bring it home P7. The force feedback feels really good at this track. Really fun to rip the top.

OBRL Cup
Brian -P18 Qualified P12, but missed the grid due to a qualifying mishap, so gridded in the rear. Had a pretty good run, still working out some pitstop problems. Managed to get as high as 8th and got shuffled back to 18th on a GWC finish.

The state of eNASCAR with Elliott Sadler Esports’ Co-Owner Seth Reiter
Before entering the Coke level, ESE was one of the many backend teams running drivers through the ranks to get to the top level. For the first two Coke seasons, it was able to run with drivers in house.
This season, that dynamic has changed as their two team drivers come from another backend team. Reiter was able to collect two drivers from a different backend team, Deadzone Racing, in both Darik Bourdeau and Cody Byus. Despite this, he continues to sit atop the spotter’s stand for Manes in 2023, while also being a coowner for ESE.
“We scaled back and decided we’re not going to build, we won’t be the backend sim team in 2023… we have two drivers that actually don’t drive for us this year.” Reiter said. The former ESE driver, Manes, is currently working with Victory1, other members which include Malik Ray, Kevin King and Joey Brown, all drivers on different teams in the Coke Series.
<<SWITCH READERS>>
Author Justin Mellilo goes on to review the state of the sport with Seth Reiter
“I just don’t think, at the moment, that it’s an entirely healthy esports model,” Reiter said. “The pillars of the series are these backend sim teams that are putting in hours and hours and hours of work to be successful.”
“Those are the guys that nobody talks about, they make this series happen with the amount of time they put in, and they deserve the recognition.”
It’s not just about the drivers, it’s about the whole group behind them, and from what it sounds like, there isn’t enough funding to warrant it all. The promoted official teams get the praise and recognition, but at the end of the day, they’ve been elevated due to the backend teams that put their drivers at the top.

Notes:
What is this series?: This series is essentially a grassroots series that is the backbone of the actual races that take place on the Nordschleife when it isn’t in use for public hot lapping. The series is made up of several motorsports clubs (part of either ADAC or DMV) which each host a 1-off event, totaling nine events throughout the year, and there is a ton of crossover with the Nurburgring 24 (Think Bathurst 12 Hour and Supercars Connection). The series has been run since 1977, and has a primarily German-based driver pool (Hence the use of each of our German brands). The series is pretty all encompassing when it comes to cars, with the 2009 year having 30 classes of cars, though much of the notable cars are from a Touring, GT3, or GT4 background. However, production cars are also allowed, thus creating the grassroots connection.

Nicky Bobby — I have a strange request, usually in listen to the podcast at work on fridays but this weekend I’m taking my wife car shopping to get her exactly what she wants, I was going to force her to listen on the 2 hour car ride to Sacramento. Can I get a shout out to her for letting me get back into sim racing and just being an all around great wife and mother. She could really use the boost in confidence.

Went back out there and drove through the pack at least twice eventually got wrecked with 40 to go in a big wreck.
Donnie – P14, Q4 8X
Justin – P-24 started pole! did really nothing wrong. We ran clean the first part of the race, green flag stops got shuffled around p10. After that it got a little rough. I was involved in 3 incidents and there was nothing I could do to avoid them. Eventually x’d out.
Tyler- P5. Wild race starting in the back. Dodged many close calls and had a good time racing teammates Justin and Mike. Made it out alive and with a Top 5. LETS GO BABY!
David – P equipment failure, grey screen of death
Saturday Fix AtlantaDega

Sunday Open
Donnie – P6, Q2 2X – 88 Lap Green Flag Start
Brian P 20 – Got stuck in a wreck when the race went green. Half the field got blacked flagged for passing the pace car and was 4 laps down from the start. Just stayed out of trouble and got to P20 with no incidents
Justin- P4, car 36 qualified 6, stayed up front eventually stay right next to teammate tom. We were on the same strat. Pitted under green came ran a few laps, Caution got the wave around. Put me back on the lead lap. Eventually worked my way up to a p4.
Mackenzie – P5 – started 3rd ran a great race staying in the top 10 all race, was p2 right behind the leader pulled away from the pack right about to get the white flag and caution comes out for the gwc, started on the outside lane and got no help from behind, fell back to p5 but will take my first top 5 finish, also had no incident points
David – P Stuck- iRacing would not let me leave the pits
Sunday Fixed
Mike – p5- ran pretty much top-five all night. Tried to keep the car clean but still had 16 incidence didn’t try to push the issue at the end. Tried to take over top five and got the job done.
Wednesday Open: COTA
Mike- p 24. I got what I deserved. Got my final 17x on the last lap. Checkered and black flag at the same time.
McKenzie- p DNF – couldn’t keep it on the track, nascars should stay at oval tracks
David – p14, didn’t take tires, it paid of a little, winner of this 2nd split only got 117 pts
Kyle P10 After some time away from iRacing to focus on my business, I am back on the track. Started P9. kept it clean for the first 8 laps and then got sloppy and slowly accumulated X’s for off track. Got shoved through the corner of the long straight. But that was the only contact all race for me. Last lap was running 8th and spun on my own trying to accelerate for the long straight. Gave up 2 spots instantly and just brought it home P10.
Tyler- P10. Track limits are broken at cota. Started in the back and kept digging trying to keep it clean. Finished with a 14x as I was battling to keep 10th at the end. Fun track but the limits really need to be adjusted.

A third of the race is gone. @DDuval42 has control of the top. @BigDogBowden leads the bottom. Things look chill for the moment. When will pits be?
For Derek Justis and Matt Bussa fans – The pair had lost the main pack and were working together, and at lap 31, the #31 went around… no caution but they are both screwed without a yellow.
Lap 48 – another close call! Somehow they all saved it here but Jimmy Mullis gets the worst of it – He’s now down multiple laps.
Past halfway and @DDuval42 has been leading for a while – the bottom hasn’t been able to prevail for some time now. Pit stops are imminent. 27 in lead pack at this point
36 to go: Green flag pit stops are underway. Looks like about 6 or 7 cars ducked onto pit road.
These pit entrances are CHAOTIC.

User Guide: The Future of iRacing and iRacing Web
For 2023 Season 2, the iRacing team made significant updates to our user interface. As iRacing continues to evolve, our Legacy Membersite will be sunset in the coming months in favor of an all-new iRacing Web experience, which preserves certain core functionalities of the iRacing interface within a browser for users who would like to access information on computers without an active iRacing installation.
Moving forward, we’ll be using the following terms:
iRacing: This is the interface that allows you to join races, paint cars, launch replays, and more. Formerly known as the iRacing UI.
iRacing Web: The web browser version of iRacing that allows users to interact with the parts of our interface that don’t require an active iRacing installation, such as managing teams and leagues.
iRacing Simulation: Your experience at the virtual racetrack.
Classic Membersite: The web browser version of iRacing currently accessible at members.iracing.com. This will be replaced by iRacing Web in the coming months.
Beginning with Season 2 , next week, the Dallara Dash will feature the newly updated iR-01 and it’s oval package. The schedule has been updated and can be seen here:
Andrew Benagh asked in the forums, “Can we please bring back the 2003 cup series rules for the Gen 4 series? Lap cars to the inside, no lucky dog, and racing back to the yellow.
Season 02 2023 brings with it great opportunities to win great prizes from companies like Buttkicker, SIMAGIC, MOZA RACING, Extreme Simracing, Ricmotech, Falken Tyre, DOF Reality, NEXT LEVEL RACING, Pure Driving School, and Sim-Lab!
Jimmy Broadbent ask, ” is iRacing seriously the only legit Sim out there currently? I know we can easily be pegged as Fan Boys but just look at the facts. Sure iRacing had its own “Cheating” scandal through Daytona but that was actual drivers and teams doing unethical things it wasn’t people/cheats opening up a 3rd party app to gain more grip or a physics advantage over other non cheating competitors 🤷🏽♂️ I know iRacing isn’t perfect but do know they are pretty stringent with Anti-cheat. I hope they use all this current crap as a heads up and even focus harder on this side of things and keep the cheats out 🤞🏽
Is the massive prize money that’s on offer these days the only cause and is it just going to get worse? Do we end up with a scenario where every Joe blow is opening up a 3rd party app tripping over each other to buy cheat hacks instead of setups before joint a race
Kristoffer Dahlstrand — Prize money is not a major motivator for cheating. All competitive games have cheating problems, real world and digital. When winning becomes more important to a person than how strong their love for the game is when people will cheat. The sad reality of the matter is that the problem is that the world is full of cheaters. It has to do with character and integrity, cheaters gonna cheat. One good thing that iracing has going for them is their monetization model.
We pay for the subscription which ensure that they have enough staff and resources to take care of our needs.
We also invest more in our accounts so there is more on the line for us both when it comes to racing clean but also when it comes to competing clean.

Following the success of Eau Rouge Carbon for Fanatec Podium Series, CSE introduces Eau Rouge EVO.
Like the other button boxes made by Custom Sim Engineering, it is fixed directly to the wheel base for motion and static sim rigs. This is particularly suitable for rigs with limited space where standard button boxes can’t be used. CSE button boxes are also designed for the most demanding drivers who want the buttons close to the wheel, easily and quickly accessible.

Friday Open – Phoenix
Mike -. P 3- I had a great car ran second most of the race got cycled back on pitch strategy and got wrecked but no damage was on a different tire structure strategy then the leader there were too many cautions at the end for me to get back up there I got up to pee three but didn’t have enough laps to catch him.
Rochette- P5 had a good car. Missed just a caution fest
Greg- p2
Donnie – P29, Q5 DNQ
Justin -started p35th, Raced with tyler, team member. i think the very first run we can a 20 run and that was about the lost stint, caution after caution. Mid race, the hooked took front end damage but still had speed. 1 lap down didn’t take long to get on the lead lap. Took all 3 green/white/checkers to finish 11th
Sunday Open
Rochette -P4 man that was probably the most fun ive ever had at phoenix. Ean in VR for the first time since middle of last year. Didnt have my spotter sound set up so had to pit from 4th on the first caution. Slowly made my way back up front to where i did the only stop i had for tires on lap 90. Ended up leading some laps. Just about everyone pitted about 15 laps after i did and i stayed out. Led some more laps and had a couple of guys pass me on fresh but towards the end of the race i was gaining and passing em back. That was fun. Was fighting for 2nd and 3rd at the end.but screwed up passing em when i mis judged where a car was on my rear and stayed alittle too high not knowing if i was clear or not. That would’ve been for a podium. Good clean racing today now i have 4 top 10s in my nis open at phx in the last 5 years
Tom D – p5. Was able to work my way up after starting 25th. Late cautions hurt me as everyone does that land rush restart. But I’ll take 2 top 5s this week
Donnie – P10, Q12 2X
Justin- started p18 ran half the race mid pack trying to stay out of trouble but the dog leg bit me locked it up and hit the LF not too hard 3min of damage steering wheel was a little at 11 o’clock still had speed. There were so many cautions everything did get repaired. There were 19 cautions all together with pit cycles that got me up to 6th on the g/w/c. That actually ran clean and stayed in the same spot. Finished 6th
Mackenzie – P 16 ran pretty well in this race but had a lot of accident problems, worked my way back to the lead lap p11 for the final restart but got rear ended on it and got the black flag for too many incident points
Sunday Fixed
Mike – p6- ran top-five pretty much all day as high as second could never get to the leader had old tires at the end and faded a bit.
Mackenzie – p11 – was running in the top 5 most of the race, got to the last 15 laps and got wreaked, finished the race down 10 laps but p11
Wednesday Open: AtlantaDega
Rochette -P8 man what a shit show i like Superspeedway racing and i like mile Nd halfs but this bastard of a track was not fun
Started 5th ended up getting screwed on a restart behind 2nd and fell to the back when he didnt go and i got a train ran on me. Couldnt make it back up front because no one knew how to draft. At the end with 15 to go we had greeen flag stops and i stayed out and bam caution in P3. A wrecked car was slowly taking his time and i had to avoid pit road and try to avoid a BFlag but had to pit under closed and still got a bf.. got it served and another caution came out. With 2 to go on the green was stuck behind lapped cars so never had a shot for a top 10 til the field wrecks at the checkered
Justin-Started P3 stayed in the top 5 about half the race then coming going along the front stretch i was the out side line and the guy that was in p3 threw a really late block caused a bunch of damage 2 laps down 21st
Mike- p wrecked out. Took it easy running top 10 all race I eventually took the lead on 30 to go. We’re just riding on the outside with the guy pushing on the bottom floated up into the top lane and destroyed the pack.
McKenzie- p13 – took the pole to start the race, lead the first 25 laps then ran top 3 until around lap 60 when i got hip checked and pushed down to the inside wall to get 5 mins req damage, ran back to p13 by the end of the race
David – p3. Got in a little trouble early as a guy moved up then changed his mind and came down across my nose. It didn’t seem to cause any damage though, got separated from main pack but a 2nd line formed well and caught them, was running 22nd. After green stops, I came out 12th. Good thing I practiced them. Then with 17 to go the caution fest started. Each time I kept surviving or just flat out gaining positions. Then had to throw a block to protect p3 at the end.

De LaraDash at Charlotte- ran the last time Sunday night with the old car as a sendoff and of course got wrecked out
Dilara Dash at Charlotte with the new car It’s pretty crazy. What is the tires warm-up it sticks in the corners. You only have to breathe the throttle a bit. I spoke with Kevin McCarthy, who is been the king of the series for many years what he thought about it, and he said it was certainly a surprise, but he’s up for the challenge. Qualified with a 22.93 on Pole lead the most laps finished P4.
The Laura Dash at Charlotte. Started fifth I took the lead on lab seven and was able to keep it in, won the race.!

Ops, I Made a Gen 4 – The Big Story
So the build came out Tuesday, by Tuesday night we are hearing word of mouth through the community, hey, go try the ARCA car… Long story short, iRacing mistakenly, according to Greg West, removed the limiter on the ARCA car causing the engine to go from a high of 7000 rpm up to 9700 rpm… Word spread quickly and hosted races popped up organically…
Word spread via social media fast, with lots of very positive input on the car and the situation of this is only temporary until the next patch when they fix it… I could not find anyone with anything negative to say about the situation. It was also perhaps the most interest and genuine enthusiasm for a ‘new car’ in iracing, that I have ever seen. It probably has more to do with the nostalgia of really good racing in those days, where it was 190 on the straights and 160 in the corners…
iRacing Big Wig Greg Hill gives confirmation that he hears the crowd…
Race lengths for the new Gen 4 Cup – Fixed series will match the race lengths of the C Open Series (Trucks). 80 laps on 1.5 milers, 60 laps at Autoclub, Etc. Schedule will be posted soon with race lengths.
By popular demand, iRacing is happy to announce we are introducing a variant of the ARCA car built to Gen 4 specs next week. This car, which will be included for all customers that own the ARCA car, will debut in a new series at the class C license level; the Gen 4 Cup- Fixed. Please note that we will also be including a reversion of the ARCA car physics in a patch scheduled for Monday, to keep the class D ARCA series intact.
Moving forward, we are looking to update the iRacing ARCA car to a modern version as well as update the Gen 4 car, in the future, to our current standards.
The schedule for the Gen 4 Cup – Fixed is as follows:

Friday Open – Las Vegas
Mike -. P running about 10 or so. Got spun by a guy coming. I’ve been to be no damage restart the body to lab 66. Later on I got spot again end of the wall with 30 second shot required in three minutes off. I ended up fixing one minute and staying on the lead lap. Interestingly, I was able to drive it up to the top five fairly quickly and was restart fifth with 20 to go. Was running really good and then all of a sudden the car got hospital wobble loose, and I fell all the way to 18 right at the end of the race.
David – p3, 15th after 2 green flag stops, caution with 25 to go, and was able to haul it. Oddly at this track I’m better short run, if I know I don’t have to save.
Justin – started 34th, was the 34, car chose not to qualify, worked his way to 17th coming to green flag stops and that’s when it went downhill from there caught speeding on pit road went 2 laps down and couldn’t catch up after that. P 24
Sunday Open
Brian – P4 Adjusted my car from practice to get the car more stable. Wasn’t super fast early, but had really good long run speed. Lead a few laps along the way. Had a caution with about 15 to go. Lost a few spots on the restart and gained them back on the long run for a P4.
Sunday Fixed
Justin- started 8th, made it to green flag pit stops running 4th. Then after the field halfway cycled through their pit stops, a yellow flag flew which caused me to be a lap down. Luckily I had the luck dog to put me back on the lead lap. Took it easy for a few laps, another quick caution flew and gained a couple stops on pit road to put me 11th. Then the final green/white/checkered went from 11th to 8th. So finally had a positive NIS
Wednesday Open: Phoenix
Greg -P wrecked out
Mike- p 6 – had a fast car and we drive forward on most runs. I finally pitted it under green on a long run and sure enough the Caution came out while I was on pit road I was able to take a wave around and stay on the lead lab and drive forward, but I could never really recover from that finished P6.
Tom D – p4 – started last (of course I didn’t qualify). Was able to work my way up to the top 10 after two long green runs. Got involved in some bumping a little bit later as I like the high line. A few late yellow and I’ll take my 3rd top 5 of the season.
McKenzie- wrecked out early
David – p9, spun early, took 2 cautions to get LD, then cars just kept dying around me. Survived for p9
Thursday Open Ellis – started 14th car number 30. Would move forward on the short run but on the long run with fade hard because it was snappy loose ended up P 11 and realize that I had ran the qualifying set. I’m a stupid fool.
Official Series
Ellis–
Pick up Kup at Phoenix. Got wrecked out.
Carburetor cup at IRacing superspeedway.
Pick up cup at Phoenix finish P4
League / Hosted Races
OBRL Cup
Brian -P.34 Started in tenth. Car was super loose after about 10-12 laps. Had to run high the whole time. Stayed in the top 15 until midway when I taped a car exiting turn 2. Made it back into the top 12 after a few cautions. Had a couple of scary moments with getting loose until finally, with about 25 laps to go lost it and didn’t recover.

More Build Teasers
iRacing has been giving up more teasers for new content in the upcoming Season 2
Is iRacing still worth it in 2023?
Our iRacing expert Emily Jones is playing the game for many many years now and she still get’s the same question: Is iRacing still worth it, even in 2023? So she made up this video for you, so there will be no open questions about the status of the game in 2023. Do you think iRacing is still worth it in 2023 or not?
Season 2 Road Series Updates
Greg West posted in the forums that in the release of season 2, iRacing has some exciting new content entering the ecosystem as well as some changes to existing series.
Ray FF1600:
This car will be part of our FREE base package and will debut in both a Rookie and class D road series.
The Formula 1600 Rookie Series – Fixed will share a schedule with the Formula Vee Series while being 30 minutes offset. This will allow for new members to only have to learn one track per week while being able to easily understand the differences between the two cars’ handling characteristics. The timing of these series will allow for drivers to be able to race in both series back to back if they so desire. To accomplish this, the Formula 1600 Rookie Series – Fixed will start on the :15 every hour while the Formula Vee Series moves to the :45 every hour.
Joining the ranks of our class D road series is the all new Formula 1600 Trophy. This open setup series will also run hourly on the :45 featuring 20 minute races.
Renault Clio Cup:
Joining our tin tops at class D will be the all new iRacing Clio Cup – Fixed. This single make series will have 15 minute races starting on the hour every hour.
The Renault Clio Cup will also debut in the Production Car Challenge replacing the VW Jetta. This will give the car both fixed and open setup series to participate in.
Dallara Formula iR:
This series is undergoing a series structure revamp for Season 2 with the switch to 20 minute races using fixed setups. This change is in concert with a tire and aero update that addresses many of the complaints about how the car handled. Give it a whirl!
Supercars – Fixed:
This series is switching back to open setups while keeping the shorter race distances.
Wheldon, Romanidis Split Skip Barber Formula iRacing Series Wins at VIR
Sebastian Wheldon and Micheal Romanidis took feature wins in the Skip Barber Formula iRacing Series at VIR. The series finale will wrap up at Road America with points leader Diogo Pinto looking to hold off Harley Haughton, who trails by just one point.
Steve Myers posted some tweets about iRacing looking into adding UTV’s to the service to bolster their dirt road content.
Next Gen Top Split AI Settings
I’ve been testing out the AI in the Next Gen with specific settings. After a few races at certain tracks I’ve gotten the settings down to where it’s top spilt competitive and very fun. The settings for each track are below. Please keep in mind to add the correct day and time as well. I start in the back and each race is around 30 minutes with no green flag pit stops and no yellows. I also use the fixed set as well for each track.
Here’s the car set I use (adjust ratings as accordingly as I know it may be a little biased haha): Collections – Trading Paints
Daytona 2/19 2:30PM 35 Laps Skill-120-125%
Auto Club 2/26 3:30PM 40 Laps Skill-63-68%

This process has been put on hold. The iRacing Classic Membersite Sunset will occur once the iRacing UI is considered feature complete. A short term goal we have is also to make portions of the iRacing UI available via a web browser and not require an iRacing client install. For example, features such as Create a Hosted Session, Manage a Team, Manage a League, or view Time Attack Competition Standings will be available from an internet browser. We will have more details on this during Week 13.

Story Corrections
Rick Lockwood —
@1.) Jerez is far from a dead track, anyone that follows MotoGP will know that 2 weeks ago they had GT and formula cars with some prototypes for a winter series. WEC races over at Portimao in the Algarve area of Portugal, 3 hrs from Jerez.. Jerez is pronounced in english as “Ha-Reth”.. Nice track and facilities also a nice Jack Nicklaus golf course next door.
Nicky Bobby —
https://mozaracing.com/product/moza-quick-release-adapter Currently listening to this weeks show and you mention that MOZA does not allow 3rd party rims. But they do. I’ve seen several videos of people using other company’s rims. The quick release they use is a NRG v2 style. There’s even videos of people putting their drift car rims directly onto a Moza r9. The only thing they don’t support is the buttons through the base so you will need to connect the electronics of the wheel via usb, Bluetooth, etc. I’m planning on going to a moza R9 and use my thrustmaster sparco wheel with an adapter I found on the VRS website
scott velez — regarding the asetek wheel topic and how good it is, a lot of that comes from the fact that asetek licensed the intellectual property (IP) of the simucube hardware and software. the asetek product is literally based on what many called the best FFB wheel available (simucube). so while many wheel manufactures had to create their designs and software from scratch, asetek did the smart thing (trading cash and stock) and jump started their product right onto the top shelf with an IP deal with simucube it’s no wonder it’s a top tier wheel
Darren F — Correct @scott velez but its not just a copy and paste, they still need to source the hardware and then base the software around the IP they brought so it wasnt just buying some code and shipping a wheel. There has been a lot more to it than that. There is also other parts that no one has really picked up on, like the 5 port hub on the back. That can be used for anything I currently have my 2 flags, streamdeck, pedals and wind sim all plugged into the base keeping 1 simple wire for each at the wheelbase and sending it through the base. I only have the Wheelbase and Mic now going off the rig and into the PC, for some people with MoBo that is limited on ports thats a game changer in its own right !! Something that Simucube doesnt have.
1.) Mike Ellis — How much does simucube make each time asetek sell a base?
scott velez — i agree @Darren F. they bought IP (likey electronic designs and firmware), not the actual hardware or end user software.
Mike Ellis from what was posted in the iRacing and GD forums, it sounds ilke it was a one time deal for cash and asetek stocks, not ongoing licensing fees. but it was a private deal, so we may never know the details.
Late Model Update
iRacing’s updated Late Model Stock is based on JR Motorsports’ CARS Late Model Stock Tour entry. Weighing in at 3100 pounds, the Late Model Stock produces more than 400 horsepower and features fiberglass body panels designed to take the abuse of wheel-to-wheel short track racing. Dale Earnhardt Jr., iRacing executive director and owner of both JR Motorsports and the CARS Tour, was hands-on in the development of the car, spending hours testing and giving feedback to help tune the car to match its real-world counterpart.

Friday Open – AAA Mike -. P6. Got hit a couple times had a little bit of damage decided to pit I probably shouldn’t have was far back as 22nd drove clear up to second, but the leader was eight seconds in front of me. At that point I couldn’t catch a caution and had driven the tires off and faded back to P6. David – p15, had a better car, cautions fell and lost the coin toss on the fresh tire timing Rochette- P Donnie – P8. Started P7, Car felt great and fast along the high line. Tire wear felt different during this week than it had all week long. Good Run gaining confidence.
Sunday Open
Brian – P.12 Started 8th had fun running the high line, but really made a lot of passes on the bottom. Made my way to first for a while, but was caught up in a wreck at the front of the field. Not too much damage, and was able to stay close to the front.
Rochette -P8 as the end credits scroll on the Auto Club speedway in Fontana so does its official racing. Just like a lack luster mid credit scene in a medicore marvel movie so was my last run at the 2 mile track. Had a long 65 lap run on the start where i was hanging in the top 5. But cautions after cautions killed my long run greatest and with a track tighter than i had all week i was wasn’t coming or going just like the I5 on a friday afternoon. Hall – p16, car 37 in top split, might have stolen a better position with fuel milage Tom D – p20. Got spun on lap 5, got a lot of front end damage and no yellow. Fell about a lap down. Was able to work my way from last to 20th during a caution free race. Will miss the big track at California. On to Vegas
Mackenzie – P 23, had a very fast car, was running around 15th and got turned sideways and crashed into the wall getting 4 min in damage, went 2 laps down. Gained one lap back and was running up behind the 9th car 1 lap down and got turned again, e
Sunday Fixed
Mike – got wrecked out on lap nine where the guy in front of me got ran over from behind and he got turned and I T-bone them 11 minutes damage. Knock the right front completely off.
Wednesday Open: Vegas
Groves –
Rochette -P15 Rolled the dice and lost was super loose in the start of the race so ended up falling in the back trying to get it adjusted right. Got caught in other peoples door banging and got spun and saved it. With my wheel at 2 o clock i ended up going from the back to the top 10 just to get hit and spun again. At the end just couldnt get around the super aggressive guys making it 4 wide in the corners.
Donnie – P17. This race started terribly as the team set was crazy loose. Made some pit stop adjustments that made the car enjoyable. But for two weeks in a row, my wheel base was failing. With the loose set up, the lack of any FFB, I had zero faith in entering any corner with competence. Vegas was one of my worst track performance, I am encouraged by the progress.
Mike- p wrecked. Ouch was doing pretty good without cautions I short pitted, but then the caution came out had to take a wave around was running 15th the 20th basically got a caution and drove it up through there. I was riding minding my own business on the top, and the guy drift it up in the band, took us all out.
Tyler – P25, set was extremely loose early on and struggled quite a bit till the first caution around first green flag stops. That was the only caution for the day and just never felt comfortable with the set. Ran the middle lane as I saw others ripping the bottom. Just was not happy the entire race.
Mackenzie – p30, had a very loose car and was fighting to keep it driving straight around the corners, was running around 20th on lap 95 but then a car went sideways in front of me and I t boned him getting 8 mins in damage, repaired the damage and went 10 laps down to finish 30th
Thursday Open Ellis – I started till I took the lead by lab 17 it stayed green until green flag pitstops I put it on lot 54 coming out of the pitch and one and two as I was trying to go from 2nd to 3rd I somehow shifted the first and spa in the car out coming up on the track bring out the caution ended up 30th one lap down for the next restart. On the next run drove like hell to get the lucky dog and I got it 12 laps later. I ran hard from dead last up two nights before a guy slowed in front of me causing me to spin out causing a Caution. No damage restarting for the restart P 12. The very next restart I’m headed to the front. I go three wide to the outside. The guy in the middle panics and drives me to the wall and five minutes damage. I soldier on staying on the lead lap, but near the end, I get sideswiped again off the high side, and hit to the wall and wrecked DNF.
Official Series
Ellis–
Indy pro F 2000.
USF 2000- yeah USA qualify 10th out of 15 ran as high as eight fell back to 10th, but was some late trouble I climbed up to seventh
US F 2000 at Watkins glen started P6 out of 13 got to pee for by the end of last one had a good battle all the way through the end it was able to keep a podium finish P3
Stevens
C class trucks at Auto club speedway – p8, #22 car started 13th, ran a great race was up to 5th with about 10 to go but used too much tire too early and lost 3 positions to finish 8th, ran the whole 30 lap race with no cautions
League / Hosted Races
OBRL Cup Brian -P.15 Started in the back half P23 with a bad qualifying. On Lap 8 was clipped in the left rear as a car came up the track while wrecking. Not too much damage, but went to the back. Had to be careful because of the incident limit, but was able to move up thru the field, much thru attrition.
